Khan's Grill Mongolian Restaurant
I go to Khans about once a month and I'm always asking myself why it isn't so packed like all the time.
If you have been to Khan's before the experience is pretty typical although the service is usually exceptional. The greeter quickly meets you at the door to explain the routine, take your drink order (which is in a huge cup by the way), and get your table arranged. You are then released to the buffet to fill your bowls. They have two types of bowls. A big bowl where you put your noodles and preferred veggies and a small bowl where you can put your meats. They have a wide variety of meats or fish to choose from. Then you can add your seasonings of your choosing. I really suggest not to add that much seasoning (preferably not add any) because you can ruin your meal. I can't really explain it, but if you add a lot of seasoning your meal will come out kind of clumpy because the seasoning is also being cooked.
The chefs are always friendly and will cook the meal to your preference. If you have no idea what sauce to choose from they are always kind enough to make the house sauce in a little cup for you to try. They have many different types of sauces to choose from, but most people choose from the house sauces they offer.
After they finish cooking the food in front of you they ask you what type of rice you want. What a huge surprise! I thought it was just going to be the noodles, but they ask you what type of rice you want (fried or white). I never finish my plate because it is too much food basically for anyone. I promise you haha. They always ask you if you need a to go plate once you're done. Like if it's expected for you to take it to go.
Overall, Khan's is a great restaurant to go out to eat. This is a restaurant only offered to the people in the Rio Grande Valley. So there shouldn't be an excuse for you not to try this restaurant for yourselves. They have five very well placed locations in the RGV. You can eat at this amazing restaurant in McAllen, Edinburg, Weslaco, Harlingen, and Brownsville. They have a website that talks about the steps on how to make an amazing dish on your own.
